Notable chieftains of the Labour Party in Odigbo local government over the weekend dumped the party for the Action Congress of Nigeria.
The leader of the group, Mr Gbenga Fakayode said they were brought to the Labour Party by Hon Saka Lawal, who recently dumped the Labour Party on the account that the governor has high jacked the party and converted it to his personal property.
“We joined the Labour Party at the instance of the former special adviser to the governor who prevailed on us to work for the party. We did work for the Labour Party and through the help of God delivered. Now that the governor has polarized the party and good people are leaving, we are left with no option than to join others in the progressive camp”, Fakayode said.
